Claes Oldenburg is a sculptor, best known for his public art installations. He uses everday object and he copy of them largely.
Many of Oldenburg’s giant sculptures of mundane objects elicited public ridicule before being embraced as whimsical, insightful, and fun additions to public outdoor art. In the 1960s he became associated with the Pop Art movement(wikipedia)
As we know, the leaders of pop- art are Andy Warhol ve Roy Lichtenstein, Claes Oldenbourg. In his sculpture, there is no abstract subject, everything is real or real object. In New York, there are a lot of huge objects from everyday life.I think, it is so hearty and it is appears to be life pattern in New York. So, this sculpture is very pretty, it looks like a part of life like a tree.i like it.
